How to use the formula sheet effectively

Three simple habits that make the formulas stick.

Habit 1

Group related formulas together

Don’t revise formulas in isolation. Keep similar formulas next to each other (for example, area formulas or trig rules) and compare how they are the same and different.

Habit 2

Write them down from memory

Cover the sheet and rewrite a small group of formulas from memory on scrap paper. Then check, correct and repeat until you can do it confidently.

Habit 3

Apply immediately to questions

After refreshing a set of formulas, solve a few questions that actually use them. This is where the sheet links directly into easyMaths UK examples and worksheets.
