This Safeguarding Policy explains the standards expected during tuition, communication, online learning, in-person learning and use of EasyMaths UK services.

3. Parent And Guardian Responsibility
Where a student is under 18, a parent or guardian should be involved in bookings, registrations and tuition arrangements.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that:
- Student information provided to EasyMaths UK is accurate
- The student attends lessons from a safe and appropriate environment
- Online learning devices are suitable and appropriately supervised
- EasyMaths UK is informed of any relevant learning, medical, wellbeing or safeguarding concerns where appropriate
4. Online Tuition Safeguarding
For online lessons, students should attend from a suitable location, such as a quiet study area or shared family space.
Students should not attend online lessons from inappropriate private settings where this may create safeguarding concerns.
Parents or guardians may remain nearby during online lessons, particularly for younger students.
EasyMaths UK may end or reschedule an online lesson if there are concerns about safety, conduct, supervision or suitability of the learning environment.
5. Communication Standards
Communication with students and parents may take place by email, telephone, website forms, WhatsApp or other appropriate channels.
Where a student is under 18, important communications should normally involve a parent or guardian.
Communication must remain professional, respectful and related to educational support, lesson arrangements or student progress.
6. Professional Boundaries
EasyMaths UK aims to maintain clear professional boundaries in all interactions with students and families.
Students, parents, guardians and tutors must not engage in inappropriate personal, abusive, discriminatory or unsafe communication.
EasyMaths UK reserves the right to discontinue services where professional boundaries are breached.
7. Lesson Recording
Online lessons may only be recorded where appropriate consent has been obtained and where recording is necessary for educational, safeguarding or quality assurance purposes.
Any recording arrangements should be communicated clearly before recording takes place.
Unauthorised recording, sharing or publishing of lessons is not permitted.
8. Behaviour And Conduct
All students are expected to behave respectfully during lessons and while using EasyMaths UK services.
EasyMaths UK may suspend or discontinue tuition where behaviour is:
- Abusive
- Threatening
- Discriminatory
- Sexualised or inappropriate
- Persistently disruptive
- Unsafe
9. Safeguarding Concerns
If EasyMaths UK becomes aware of a safeguarding concern, it may take appropriate action depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern.
This may include:
- Speaking with a parent or guardian
- Recording the concern internally
- Seeking professional advice
- Contacting relevant safeguarding authorities where necessary
- Ending or pausing tuition where safety requires it
10. Confidentiality
Information shared with EasyMaths UK will be treated respectfully and handled in accordance with the EasyMaths UK Privacy Policy.
However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where there is a safeguarding concern, risk of harm, legal obligation or serious welfare issue.
11. Data Protection And Safeguarding Records
EasyMaths UK may keep appropriate records relating to safeguarding concerns, lesson arrangements, communications and student support where necessary.
Such records will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and retained only for as long as reasonably necessary.
12. Tutor Standards
Tutors working with EasyMaths UK are expected to maintain professional standards and comply with safeguarding expectations.
Where applicable, EasyMaths UK may carry out checks or request evidence relating to qualifications, experience, identity or suitability.
13. In-Person Tuition
Where in-person tuition is provided, lessons should take place in a safe and appropriate environment.
Parents or guardians should ensure suitable arrangements are in place for students arriving, waiting and leaving safely.
14. Reporting A Concern
Parents, guardians or students who have a safeguarding concern relating to EasyMaths UK services should contact EasyMaths UK as soon as possible using the contact details available on the website.
